We are so looking forward to welcoming you to our 200 hrs teacher training!

When we designed this program, we thought long and hard about what we believe is essential to becoming an extraordinary yoga teacher.

 

We believe that what makes a teacher extraordinary, is a willingness to look at yourself honestly. Honesty is the very foundation of a real yoga practice. We are here to guide you to become a certified yoga teacher, but our main mission is to help you get to know yourself and your Self better. We believe that the clarity and insight that comes from understanding ourselves, how we interact in the world and where our patterns come from, are the pillars that inform how and what we teach. Your own direct experience and realisations will be your greatest tools and source of wisdom. In yoga, we learn to witness our body, breath, mind and life. In understanding yourself through doing this consistently, you trailblaze the path that you walk, aligned with your true values.

The foundational qualities of this entire training are curiousity and exploration:

We seek to understand how our mind works; to see and understand how our emotions are triggered; to feel and connect to the wisdom of our bodies; to become familiar with and begin to master the breath. Through practice and reflection, you will gain the tools and insight you need to cope with your body, mind and emotions in everyday life. The place you will end up teaching from is therefore in the core of your being, inspired always by your real life experiences. This is how we take the yoga off the mat and how we live our practice. This will be what makes you an extraordinary teacher because you will teach from a place of clarity and insight, not because you learned it through reading books, but from doing the work yourself and keeping it real, keeping it honest, no matter how brutal. It is alive in you, every moment of every day.

Some people are afraid to do the work because they are afraid of what they might find, what they might see. If our experience teaches us anything, from all the people we have witnessed ourselves, going through this very same process, we can say to you, You will find only beauty and you will see with joy.

In this training you will:

  • Lay the foundation for or build upon your own practice

  • Learn how to teach Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow

  • Explore the secrets of breathing with 'the science of pranayama'

  • Explore your own mind through meditation

  • Learn how to integrate mindfulness and meditation into your daily life

  • Explore and discuss yoga philosophy

  • Learn anatomy in relation to yoga asanas

  • Learn how to give hands on assistance safely and respectfully

  • Learn how to instruct in meditation and pranayama

  • Learn how to sequence yoga classes

  • Learn how to give precise instructions that transforms an asana

  • Understand the connection between physical exercise, nutrition, breathing, mental exercise and sleep

    The training runs over 5 sessions on these dates:

  • Wednesday 8. January - Saturday 11. January 2025

  • Sunday 2. March - Friday 7. March 2025 (retreat)

  • Thursday 3. April - Saturday 5. April 2025

    All classes will take place at Meningshethuset in Uranieborg, Oslo.

    The retreat week will take place at Nosen Yoga & Fjellhotell in Valdres.

  • You must keep two journals during the course:

  • Reflection diary

  • Daily practice journal (meditation)
